I trained as a teacher many years ago in London and have taught in a variety of countries. I have thoroughly enjoyed opening up children’s minds and being able to help them find their place in school and ultimately in society. I find them rewarding, entertaining, demanding and fascinating.

I am a passionate, outdoors person with years of experience teaching and working with children. I believe in creating hands on, experiential learning activities where children are engaged and stimulated to bring out their natural curiosity. In doing this, children are encouraged to discover, form opinions, problem solve and reach solutions for themselves – I facilitate and guide the process.

During COVID-19 all teachers have had to adapt to new methodologies and explore new ways of imparting knowledge. I have always evaluated how children learn and thus have naturally been able to adapt my teaching to accommodate different learning styles – even online. I believe that all children, given the correct teaching methods, can reach their full potential.

I am a passionate teacher who strongly believes that each child is a genius and it is the role of the teacher to help bring the best out of each child. I have had a wide variety of teaching experiences from the Foundation Phase up to Grade 12 and A-Levels across a number of subjects. My core-teaching subjects are History, English, Geography and EMS. I have experience in helping children prepare for examinations, especially their final examinations.

The last 10 years I have dedicated myself to educating and moulding the minds of children and then included young adults. I left the corporate world in 2011 and started teaching and then added tutoring and lecturing. I LOVE what I do and realised that my passion was to help children that found learning in a classroom challenging. It was for this reason that I enrolled to do an educational therapy course which I completed in January 2021 and will be officially qualified in 2023. I really believe that there is no child who is unable to learn with the right tools/strategies and facilitator.

I am a mature, fun-loving professional who enjoys working with children. I have a great understanding of the value of a good foundation for children in the early years. I believe in whole learning, learning through play, and integrated learning. I am able to adapt my lessons and teaching styles according to the way a child learns. I have a full understanding of multiple intelligences and how a child’s intelligence can be harnessed. I have great patience, care, and understanding when it comes to my learners and in ensuring that they work to the best of their ability at all times.
